No subscription, no listing fees, and never a charge to see or reply to a lead. Bookt takes 7.5% only when a customer confirms a booking with you, so a quiet month costs you nothing.

How the deposit flows

When a customer accepts your quote, they pay a 25% deposit via Stripe. When the deposit hits your connected Stripe account depends on how soon the event is:

The remaining 75% is paid directly between you and the customer on whatever terms you agree.

Cancellations & refunds

What happens if a customer cancels?

It's a fixed, time-based rule — not a judgement call by you or us. If the event is more than 30 days away, the customer gets a full refund if they cancel within 30 days of booking. If the event is 30 days away or less, they can get a full refund any time before it happens. Outside those two windows, no refund applies and you keep the deposit.

Do I have to process the refund myself?

No. Bookt is the merchant of record on the 25% deposit — it's charged through Bookt's Stripe account, not yours. When a refund is due, Bookt issues it from Bookt's own balance, including refunding its own service fee. You're never asked to action a refund.

Could money ever be pulled back from my account?

Only in one specific case: if the deposit has already been paid out to you and you're the one who then cancels the confirmed booking. That transfer is reversed so the customer can be refunded. Outside of that — a customer cancelling, or a booking that hasn't paid out yet — your account is never touched.

What if a customer's bank opens a dispute (chargeback)?

That's between the customer's bank and Bookt, as the merchant of record. Bookt handles it directly and lets you know what's happening — you're not expected to respond to the dispute yourself.

If I cancel a confirmed booking, what happens?

The customer always gets a full refund, no matter when you cancel. Keeping your calendar accurate and only accepting jobs you can deliver avoids this — but if it happens, the customer is protected either way.
