Every hair and makeup artist sets their own rates — Bookt doesn't cap or cut your price. We take 7.5% only when a booking completes. So if you quote £1,500 and the customer books, Bookt's fee is £112.50 and you keep £1,387.50. No subscription means it costs you nothing in months where you don't book.
No — Bookt matches by your travel radius, not your postcode. Any hair and makeup artist who covers Argyll and Bute as part of their service area can apply for jobs here, whether you're based in the city itself or commuting in for events.
The customer pays a 25% deposit when they book, held in Stripe. If the event is more than 30 days away, the deposit transfers to your payout account 30 days after booking (less our 7.5%). If the event is sooner, the deposit transfers after you mark the job done and the customer confirms — usually next day. The remaining 75% is paid directly between you and the customer on whatever terms you agree.
