Demand for cakes & desserts in Cambridge is real — college dinners, riverside punting receptions and Fenland country-house weddings. Local bookings span Madingley Hall, Trinity College and King's College and dozens of smaller rooms.
Local jobs generally pay £543–£900 for a wedding cake. Bookt takes 7.5% only when a booking confirms — months without work cost you nothing.
You'll see the full brief (venue, date, budget) before quoting, so there's no pay-per-lead gamble. Get your Cambridge profile live before the peak-season rush and you're in the draw from day one.

Customers in and around Cambridge submit quote requests on Bookt with their date, location and brief. We match the request to cakes & desserts who cover that area and you can reply with a personalised quote. You control your pricing, availability and what you say yes to.
Every cake maker sets their own rates — Bookt doesn't cap or cut your price. We take 7.5% only when a booking completes. So if you quote £1,500 and the customer books, Bookt's fee is £112.50 and you keep £1,387.50. No subscription means it costs you nothing in months where you don't book.
No — Bookt matches by your travel radius, not your postcode. Any cake maker who covers Cambridge as part of their service area can apply for jobs here, whether you're based in the city itself or commuting in for events.
The customer pays a 25% deposit when they book, held in Stripe. If the event is more than 30 days away, the deposit transfers to your payout account 30 days after booking (less our 7.5%). If the event is sooner, the deposit transfers after you mark the job done and the customer confirms — usually next day. The remaining 75% is paid directly between you and the customer on whatever terms you agree.
